Theatre by the Lake ( Keswick ) –this beautiful theatre nestled on the shores of Derwentwater in Keswick, has a 400-seat Main House and a 100-seat Studio. The theatre produces up to nine plays annually, including a six-play Summer Season, and hosts various festivals such as the Keswick Film Festival and Words by the Water. 

The Coro ( Ulverston) – Built in 1911 to commemorate King George V’s coronation, it boasts the largest capacity of any hall in South Lakeland, seating up to 650 guests. The Coro hosts many events including theatre productions, music concerts, comedy shows, and community gatherings.

Theatre by the Lake (Bowness) – part of the Beatrix Potter Attraction. During July & August 2025 you can join Peter Rabbit and friends for a magical musical.  The 270 theatre-in-the-round also offers dramas, music and comedy throughout the year and has been known to premier Sir Alan Aykbourne’s latest plays.

Alhambra Cinema (Keswick) – reportedly one of the oldest, continuous cinema having been built in 1913. With 2 screens – a large, 157 seat auditorium and a small, intimate 28 seater. Starting with piano accompanied silent movies, the introduction of talkies and now well into the 21st century it shows all the latest movies and live streamed theatre. 

Penrith Lonsdale Alhambra Cinema – originally a theatre and then, in the 1920’s became a cinema. With 3 screens this movie theatre shows all the latest blockbusters and also occasionally foreign language films and live theatre broadcasts.

Zeffirellis (Ambleside) – 5 screen cinema and cultural venue in Ambleside. Complementing the cinematic experience, the venue features a popular vegetarian restaurant, a daytime café with a terrace, and a jazz bar that hosts live music events. Zeffirellis also offers a “Movie Deal,” combining a two-course meal with a reserved cinema seat, providing a complete evening of entertainment. Its sister venue, Fellinis, continues this tradition with a ‘Vegeterranean’ restaurant and an additional cinema screen.

Vue Cinemas (Barrow-In-Furness) – A large 6 screen venue with the latest technology showing films in 2D, 3D and 4K and onside parking.
